Number of Positions: 3 (from 3 different countries)
Job Description: Food&Beverage. The positions are waiters/waitress to work in the grill room for lunch and dining room at dinner.  Will take orders, serve drinks, use POS system, set up for banquets, work BBQ’s, buffets, private parties. Also possible work as bartender.

Employment Dates:

Start Date(s): March 15-16. End Date(s): December 15-16. Total of 9 months.

Gender Preference:

 Male, but female will also be considered.
Work Schedule: Participants will be having different shifts. Many shifts will be approximately 6 hours. Shifts and schedules may change during the course of the program.
Average Weekly Hours: 40 hours are guaranteed. (Overtime may be available during busy periods).

Starting Wage:

$9/hr. Paid bi-weekly.

Overtime:

 Overtime will be paid 1.5 times the regular pay rate.

English Skills Required:

 Advanced
Arrival Information: Participants should arrive at the O’Hare - Chicago International Airport (ORD). Participants will be picked up and drop-off by the employer representative.
Additional Requirements: Participants must know how to swim well as they will be required to pass a lifeguard certification (includes swimming eight laps in a 25 meter pool and picking up a 3 kg weight in 2 meters of water) when rotating in Recreation. Those who fail the swim test may be sent back home.
Work Uniforms: Uniforms are provided free of charge.
Housing: Dormitory (3 years old) with internet, kitchen, TV and other amenities. Price: $35/week. Security deposit is $250, and will be deducted from paychecks ($50/paycheck). Part of it will be refunded if the room is returned in good order (clean and tidy with nothing damaged) upon completion of the program.
Transportation: No transportation needed as housing is within the property; walking distance.
Other Important Info:
  • Employer will conduct skype webcam interviews with candidates who are shortlisted. All applications must be received no later than December 31, 2011. Employer will not accept couples; only individual candidates are eligible.
  • Meals are included in the weekly housing cost.
  • Upon arrival, the employer will train candidates on the job, plus meetings for 2 weeks. Interns will also have a tour of the area, get library cards, etc. Employer also takes interns to ball games, amusement parks, museums, etc.
  • International staff during the summer season from many countries total 17, many returning from last year. A great place to work.
  • On off time can play golf, tennis and use pool on Mondays.
