Hello World is proud to welcome you to our RPL Australia – Hair and Beauty Program (RPL Program). We designed this program in cooperation with Melbourne College of Hair and Beauty (MCOHB) to offer young professional hairdressers an opportunity to have their skills and knowledge assessed against Australian national standards in order to be eligible to receive full or partial recognition.
RPL stands for Recognition of Prior Learning and allows participants to apply for Australian permanent work visa (Skilled Independent Migrant – subclass 175 visa) and eventually immigrate to Australia upon a successful completion of all tests and obtaining a Certificate from MCOHB (Please note that immigration related questions need to be addressed to an immigration agent).
This is an all-year program and can be administered at any given time, provided all the minimum requirements have been fulfilled. There is also no quota limit on the number of prospective candidates who can apply.
Whether you feel you are eligible for the RPL Program due to a combination of education and work experience or due to extensive related work experience, tremendous opportunities exist.
Regarding job prospects, Australia is currently experiencing a severe skill shortage of qualified hairdressers. Salon owners are no longer advertising jobs in the paper or online due to the cost of having these vacancies go unfilled. Consequently all jobs are now filled via word-of-mouth. Although Hello World or MCOHB are unable to guarantee any candidate a job prior to or upon their arrival in Australia we are happy to issue a letter stating they have successfully completed the RPL Assessment with MCOHB, what the outcome was and their qualifications are. A verbal reference can also be given.
